The Quiet Corner

Through photography I view the quiet and mundane corners of daily life in a new way. My work documents a collaboration between humans and nature that sometimes goes unnoticed (vines growing up a sign post) and sometimes makes us immobile (a heavy snowfall). Through this body of work we can explore questions regarding the spaces and places we live in and occupy; what does it mean to take up space, what does it mean to waste space and who does space really belong to? Perhaps more importantly, by voluntarily immersing oneself in these quiet corners one encounters a kind of beauty that doesn’t demand attention, yet is on display if one should simply choose to look.
